Kestrels (Year 5)

Welcome to year 5!

This year's teachers are Mrs John Monday-Wednesday and Mr Hodges Thursday-Friday. We also currently have Mrs Froggatt in year 5 Tuesday to Thursday for this half term.

We have fit kids and PE on Thursday. All children need: a white top (not their school top) black shorts (tracksuits are fine for the colder months) and some trainers. Please make sure children have all of these items in school.

May we please remind you that children should have their PE kit in school every day, not just on days that PE is expected to happen.

Homework goes out on a Friday; it is expected back the next Friday. Homework consists of: reading comprehension, maths, English and a list of spellings. Please help your child to complete their homework. It is designed to be challenging! Your child will be tested on their spellings every Friday.

It is also expected as part of their homework, that children read at least 4 times through the course of a week. That can be by themselves and they can sign their reading logs themselves. Please ask your child what has happened in their book and ask them questions about it, this will improve their comprehension. However the more you can read with them, the better their reading will get.

Summer Term
