Once again, parents and children went above and beyond with their extremely generous donations to the Shekinah Mission and local food banks as we celebrated Harvest Festival. It was also a brilliant turn out for the event with parents and carers filling the hall to watch the children perform and our guest speaker, Reverend Sue, deliver her message of thanks.
Thanks to the wonderful Widening Horizons project, Kestrels visited Saltram to learn all about environmental management, testing soil quality by digging for worms; picking apples from the orchard and helping to feed the resident herd of cattle.
Children from Eagles and Owls spent their week learning a range of different skills at the picturesque Shallowford Farm, a working farm near Widdecombe-On-The-Moor. From helping to gather eggs to working collaboratively to build shelters from wood and other natural items, the children developed their resilience and perseverance skills.
It was day of fun and adventure for Buzzards, when they enjoyed some bell-boating and explored the artillery tower at Mount Batten. The class gained valuable water safety knowledge and teamwork skills, whilst sharing laughs along the way.
